MAXWELL SHAGGYPANTS
A NOTE TO OUR BREEDERS
I had the recent pleasure of corresponding with Kate McClelland, President of Aggie Guide-Dogs and Service-Dogs and I asked her which qualities she was looking for in choosing pups for her program. This is what she had to say :
Our criteria is that we are looking for large dogs (50 lbs+ preferably) and we bring puppies into our program when they are between 8-12 weeks of age. We also like to have the dogs temperment tested using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude test before entering AGS to make sure they have the right personality for service work. We aren't looking for solely labradoodles, but are interested in any retreiver mixes as well. We like to be able to look at the history of the parents, especially in regards to health tests. It would be ideal to have had PennHip or OFA testing.
If anyone is interested at all in donating puppies to our organization, please feel free to give them my e-mail address or our Puppy Raiser Supervisor's address (Katie Hiller): ktgrly53417@yahoo.com They can also just go to our website: http://ags.tamu.edu and e-mail us from there. Thank you so much again!
Sincerely,
Kate McClelland
