Behavior Tip of the Month
Home Alone 2
Here are some more ideas for keeping your dog constructively busy when she is at home alone.
1. If your dog loves to dig ( digging is normal dog behavior, not evil or spiteful), make him a digging pit. You can get a sandbox or kiddy pool and fill it with sand. Bury some of his favorite toys, chewies and treats in it. Teach him how to dig up his buried treasure. Then everyday before you leave, bury a few goodies in his "digging pit".
2. With summer coming, a wading pool out in the yard will keep your dog cool and entertained. Again, buy a kiddie pool and fill it with water. Your dog can have fun in it while you're gone. Change locations every few days so the grass underneath won't die.
Next month, I'll have more ideas for keeping your dog occupied and happy while you're gone.
