SILVER

Black dogs can carry a recessive genes for silver or blue,  and the pup can fade to silver, or will be born with a bluish tint to the coat and have blue-grey colored pigment.  Black dogs that carry the silver gene, usually begin  turning silver at  7 weeks of age.
